Entryways can be either the most hectic part of your home, or the most welcoming. So what’s the difference? It’s all in the decor, and foyers tend to speak for themselves when it comes to delivering a good (or meh) first impression of your home.

So if you’ve been searching far and wide for a way to make your entryway stand out, look no further than this week’s top Instagram trends. As we do every week, we scrolled through hundreds of decor posts on IG to uncover the most popular looks, this time with an eye on the entrance.

It’s easy to see why these designs earned the most hearts; they all grab your attention as soon as you walk through the door. And if you like these looks as much as the rest of the internet does, you’re in luck—we’ve ID’d items you can buy right now to replicate the aesthetic. Read on to make your entryway a space you—and your guests—won’t want to leave.

Cozy window seats

If it seems like you never have the time to sit down and relax, then adding a window seat at the entrance of your home might just do the trick. This cozy window seat featured by @vivirdesign is enough to tempt anyone into a few more minutes of relaxation every day.

“We’ve recently worked on projects to build these ultracozy and chic window seats into the entryway to great effect,” says David Ewart, interior design lead for Pavilion Broadway. “Cozy nooks in bay windows are becoming ever more popular with families with young kids as they can often double up as terrific storage options to tidy up clutter, and bright and airy reading seats that take full advantage of natural daylight.”

Tribal runner rugs

Nothing completes a room like a stylish throw rug, and this tribal runner featured by @designsbyjeana seems like it would work wonders in just about any entryway.

“A tribal runner acts as an accent piece for any and all entryways,” says Neil Partridge of NGI Design. “They go really well with different types of decor and interior trends, and also offer a warmth as you enter the home, especially if you have a wooden floor like this one.”

Elegant dried arrangements

If your entryway is anything like ours, then it can probably benefit from just about anything that makes it look larger and more spacious, like this height-amplifying dried bouquet pictured in a repost by @vivirdesign, from the home of @kerrywashington.

“Dried grass arrangements have become the rave this season,” says interior decorator and real estate agent Janene Ferrara. “Fresh florals aren’t always practical, and dried grasses and reeds are a trendy alternative that will last all season.”

Oversize round mirrors

You can tell your small hall mirror to take a hike, because nothing brings in the light and completes a space quite like an oversize round mirror.

Even if your foyer isn’t quite as bright as the one in this repost from @hofdeco (originally posted by @mrsparanjape), a big mirror will help capture and magnify any light you do have—making your space feel even warmer and more inviting.

“Oversized mirrors can make a striking addition to any entryway,” Ewart says. “If your round mirror contains extra flourishes or a unique finish, style it with neutral-colored vases, pots, or decorative items to draw your visitor’s attention back to this main focal point.”

Fun wall decals

Who says entryway walls have to be one boring color? Not @craven_haven, whose foyer was recently reposted by @hunkerhome. You can keep things bright and fun this season by adding some wall decals, like this one with black polka dots.

“Decals like this are such an underrated design feature for most homes,” Partridge says. “Having a design like this creates a cozy feeling, and since most people want their homes to feel cozy as you walk in, doing this kind of thing in an entryway means you’re able to achieve that straight away.”
