Corral Bedroom Clutter and Show Off Your Style: 5 Instagram Trends To Try

You can’t have style without stuff—but too much stuff is just clutter. And it’s no surprise that the bedroom, where we just want to collapse at the end of the day rather than tediously putting things in order, tends to accumulate a lot of it.

Fortunately, when it comes to identifying your personal style, that stuff offers clues—the things you’re drawn to, the things you collect. Instead of dumping them in a corner, use those items to make a design statement.

Take some inspiration from the design geniuses of Instagram. Like we do every week, we’ve highlighted five top trending looks that you’ll be hard-pressed not to steal for your own bedroom.

1. Rustic storage bench

Let’s be real: Most of your clutter will still need to be stored out of sight. You might as well stash it in something chic, like this rustic storage bench featured by @ireneburg7.

“A storage bench is the perfect solution for resolving closet storage issues, creating additional space, and serving double duty as seating,” says Michelle Harrison-McAllister of Michelle Harrison Design, who likes the “handsome, rustic vibe” of this wooden bench.

A tiny shelf like this one from @caffeineandcacti is like a little spotlight on your favorite items.

“When decorating a space, you sometimes come across a small wall that needs just a little special something,” says Doreen Amico-Sorell of  Sorell Interiors. “That’s the time to use a mini shelf. Small floating shelves styled with just the right trinkets will not only fill the void but add an extra focal point to your room.”

3. Hat gallery wall

Finally, a place to put your favorite hats on display that doesn’t involve stacking them. Give your glorious hat collection the space it deserves with a gallery wall like this one from @marzena.marideko.

“A hat gallery is a great decorative tool to create a unique, fun, and distinctive look,” says Kobi Karp, principal at Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design. “It’s also very fashion forward and adds a personal flair, while saving space on storage.”

The Simplest Things… . I love how our guest room has transitioned over the last year. Change is good! . We had manual roller shades behind the window valances for years but they were hard to pull down and there are A LOT of windows in here! I’m not sure what took me so long- maybe I thought it would be too expensive or complicated? Once I started to refresh this room I knew it was time to change out the old manual shades for motorized- and WOW! (Swipe!) . What a difference! Now, with the touch of a button ALL THE SHADES, even the door shades, move up and down together! . I couldn’t be more happy with our motorized shades from @blindsgalore (these are the Envision Roller Shades, in “Vintage Linen”) They were surprisingly easy to install and very affordable! I’m tagging @blindsgalore here so you can go check them out! . #simplethings #welivehere #guestroom #windowshades #myhomedetails #homestyle #simplethings #bedswing #sleepingporch #capehouse #freshair #bedroom #interiorstyling #oldhome #cozybedroom #swingbed #pompomathome #blindsgalore #capecodhome #coastalhome #homedecorideas #hydrangeas #bedlinens #counteyhome #realsimple
