Start with a simple black and white color scheme. We used striped scrapbooking paper for our placemats, and we spray painted some thrift-store-bought vases and candleholders a matte black. Add contrast with bold orange accents like candles, flowers, pumpkins, and other decorative items.
Make a fun and freaky centerpiece out of natural and artificial flowers, leaves, and a vessel that's a little out of the ordinary, like the Think Outside the Box.
Whatever you're serving up, make it cute and creepy. We added toy vampire teeth to these toothsome treats.
For extra lighting accents, we affixed pingpong balls to electric tea light candles and drew on some eerie eyeballs. Just use a pen to poke a hole through the balls, pop them on top of the tea lights, and go to town with some permanent markers. Easiest DIY ever.
Choose tableware that's full of character. We used the Writing by Night Mug and the Macabre and Cheese Plate Set.
Boo(m). You're done! Your table is ready for entertaining both guests and ghosts alike! Come over to ModCloth for even more spooky table setting tips.
How will you be decorating for Halloween this year?
