Midsummer is a crazy time for most, and it likely has your entryway looking a bit like the sporting goods aisle of your favorite outdoor store. But underneath all those beach bags and fishing poles is a foyer that’s just begging for a little TLC—and we’ve got just the thing.

Like we do every week, we’re back with five of the top trending looks on Instagram and a few hints on how you can steal the look.

Keep reading to learn how to take your foyer from crowded summer rec center to a light and airy designer’s dream.

1. Modern farmhouse pendant light

Our entryway is a mix of pieces we’ve built, pieces my dad built, a gallery of our original rescue kitties, and our favorite benches and vases! One of the reasons I love these leather benches is that they have an X-shaped metal base that ties in with many other features in our home so as soon as I saw them, I knew they’d fit right in! (Cat cameo by Nyx patiently waiting for us to complete our art piece we’re currently making! My next post will be the reveal!) — Shop your screenshot of this pic for sources & similar items with the LIKEtoKNOW.it app. http://liketk.it/2Txr3 . . ALL SOURCES are posted on our website. One of the easiest ways to elevate an entryway design is with a brand-new pendant lamp, like this modern farmhouse one featured by @ahousewebuilt.

“Farmhouse as an aesthetic has been leaning modern, as homeowners look for classic silhouettes with more contemporary styling,” says Lindsey Zborowski, design manager for Wayfair Professional.

“These pendants are the perfect example of the crossover—feeling a bit industrial but geometric and simplified in a way that’s airy and elevated,” says Zborowski. “We love how refined but approachable these pendants feel for a warm entryway moment.”

2. Macrame throw pillows

Sammy is resting up. We have our sweet, little grands all weekend and they are BUSY! It’s like a play date for her because she loves kids and is so good with them. They are 3 and 18 months, so we all need to bank some energy—they are busy! I love all the joy, curiosity and giggles they bring and don’t even mind a couple meltdowns. Very soon we will have a baby boy (September), from my guy’s side, to add to the crew. Were you close to your cousins growing up? I was and it’s the best, right?, so we are excited to host some “cousin time” here. The old boat on our beach is filled with sand and ready for littles. I’ll be sure to show you in stories this weekend if they like it. #tuxedofarmhouse #foyergoals #foyerarea #foyerinspo #entrywaybench #staircasedecor #foyerdesign #foyers #foyerdecor #staircasedesign #entrywaydecor #foyer #entryway #decorlovelangauge #mydecorlove #farmhousehome #farmhousedecorating #elegantfarmhouse #shiplaplove #farmhouseinspiration #americanfarmhouse #modernfarmhousedecor #shiplapwalls #cottagesandbungalows #farmhousestyledecor #farmhousedesign #farmhouselove #farmhouseinspired #farmhouse_homes #shiplap

Throw pillows come in all shapes and sizes, especially during the summer season. But something about this macrame throw pillow from @tuxedofarmhouse makes us excited to get back to basics.

“The handcrafted character of macrame makes it a popular decor trend,” Zborowski says. “The woven techniques used on these pillows add unique texture to your entry bench, while the organic materials give off a natural feel that’s still soft and comfortable.”

3. French Blue pottery

“French Blue is a particularly regal shade of blue that pairs well with traditional aesthetics and furniture,” says designer Colin Haentjens of The Knobs Company. “French Blue paired with whites and dark neutrals is a timeless combination.”

4. Peachy pink door

Bright, cheery front doors have been a trend for a while, but something about this peachy pink door from @alietatreasurehunting takes things to the next level.

“This look goes hand in hand with the popularity of neutrals overall and warm grays specifically for interior and exterior,” says designer Tina Huffman of Greenhouse Studio. “Pink and gray is a classic combination, and it’s a great way to create a fun, colorful focal point in an otherwise neutral exterior.”

5. Wrought-iron baskets

Looking to add some stylish storage for all of your extra summer gear? Look no further than these wrought-iron baskets featured by @theverestplace.

“The beauty of these baskets is that they’re light and airy, creating the appearance of texture without added density,” Zborowski says. “They’re more durable than a wicker basket, and with wicker popping up on light fixtures, bowls, furniture, and more, it makes sense that we would see baskets in other materials to balance out the home.”
