Your foyer doesn’t have to be a place to simply drop umbrellas and pool towels and shoes—it can also be a place to sit and flip through your mail while waiting for a friend to arrive, or a quiet spot to collect your thoughts between guests coming and going.

This installment of our weekly Instagram series features five entryway looks that will inspire you to enjoy more perfect moments in your foyer—and will help you create the kind of space others will marvel at every single time they pass through your front door.

1. Vintage dresser

Nothing whispers class quite like the perfectly plucked vintage piece—and this antique-looking dresser featured by @world_of_ronati.

“One way to use vintage furniture in a modern and chic way is to repurpose furniture like a dresser in an unexpected way, like as a front entryway table,” says designer Jaime Huffman of Charleston Blonde.

“The drawers and compartments in vintage dressers also make it a great way to store any last-minute, running-out-the-door necessities without the visual clutter of other entryway storage options.”

2. Tropical wallpaper

If you love decadent leafy accents as much as we do, then you’re going to fall hard for this leafy wallpaper featured by @dburnsinteriors.

“As a kid watching ‘Golden Girls’ with my grandmother, I longed for the tropical chic bedroom of in-house vixen and all-around queen Blanche Devereaux,” says designer Natasha Nicolaou, of NatNico Designs. “Unfortunately, my mother was against a 5-year-old decorating her room, but as an adult I could not be more excited to see that gorgeous, tropical, leafy wallpaper has made a comeback, and it’s the perfect pattern to make a bold statement in an entryway of any size.

“Get a sophisticated look with a leafy pattern in muted tones paired with soft linens,” she adds, “or go full-on tropical with bright colors and an eclectic mix of furniture.”

3. Gold accents

Another classy design trick that will never get old: using magical gold and metallic accents, like we see in this post from @lindseyhomedesign.

“Gold accents are a classic staple of timeless design, and they are right at home in a well-styled entryway,” says Nicolaou.

“Brushed gold is very on-trend right now. It’s warm, inviting, and gives off an amazing glow when paired with candles and soft lighting,” she adds.

Get the look: To add a touch of warmth and style to your entryway, try a set of modern brushed-gold taper holders on your entryway table or a large mirror with a sleek gold frame. We’re partial to this gold tabletop hurricane candle holder or these Escalera picture frames.

4. Seating-plus-storage

If you need more seating space in your foyer, why not transform the closet like @sarahjoyblog did?

“This is such a great idea and an amazing way to add a custom, elevated look to an entryway,” says Nicolaou. “Turning an under-utilized closet into an open seating bench and storage area completely transforms the look of an entryway and can be done with a relatively small budget.”

5. Ottoman centerpiece

Comfort should be at the center of every room in your home, and the entryway is no exception. For a cozy foyer with a timeless design, you might just take a note from @kbdesign02025 and her showstopping ottoman centerpiece.

“I absolutely love the trend in interior design right now of making entryways more of an actual statement,” says Huffman. “They’re easy to overlook, but they’re also supereasy to style and make such a bigger impact, like this ottoman centerpiece does. Even in a smaller home, having a seating space like an ottoman in the middle of your entryway conveys a luxurious vibe, as if you’re visiting a grand house or walking into a huge walk-in closet.”
