More and more designers, it seems, are ditching quartz and granite countertops altogether, and swapping them out for cozy wood like we see from @the_indigo_house.
“Wooden countertops work well as an effective visual contrast to modern smooth cabinetry,” says Stephanie James, partner at Allen and James Designs. “Especially with the variety in deep colorations available in cabinetry, the contrast of wood offers multilayering and visually textural design elements.”

3. Marble backsplash

“Marble backsplashes instantly elevate any kitchen,” Moreno says. “It can work with sleek, modern kitchens or more traditional ones. Choose darker veining or lighter depending on the look and feel you are going for.”
Don’t have a massive budget for marble? Moreno often turns to quartz.
“It’s the closest thing to marble that I’ve seen on the market, and is durable, stain-resistant, and cost-effective,” she says.
