Regency Redux: Add a Dose of ‘Bridgerton’ Glam to Your Entryway

Trending entryway looks on Instagram

Instagram

As we all slog through the past weeks of this pandemic winter, there can be no such thing as too much escapism. The smash success of Netflix’s “Bridgerton” in late December was a clear sign that people needed to trade bleak winterscapes and bad news for lavish, colorful sets and salacious gossip, 19th-century style.

If you’re a fan of the show, then you know we’ve already laid out the ways you can bring “Bridgerton” into your home. But this week’s trends on Instagram show that there’s plenty of the show’s glamour to go around.

Like we do every week, we’ve brought you five of Instagram’s hottest decor trends, this time centered on bringing some of that Regency-era allure into your foyer. Here are the top looks this week that you can use to prepare your entryway to receive guests again—hopefully, in the near future.

Antique prints

Nothing gives a space that old-world elegance quite like a set of matching antique prints, like these ones featured by @bittybromley.

“Transform bare walls with antique prints to create a striking presentation,” says Jen Stark of Happy DIY Home.

“This vintage wall art can be found at antiques shops, flea markets, or maybe even in your grandparents’ basement,” says Stark. “Choose common themes like birds, buildings, or portraits in a similar style for a consistent look, and hang the art at equidistant points. However you decide to express your personality, add appropriate frames, clip, or bows to complete the look.”

Round marble table

Looking to make a big statement in your foyer this season? Then look no further than a classic marble table like this one featured by @mariechristinedesign.

“Entryways with wooden floors are begging for a table in a differing material, and marble fits the bill perfectly,” says Lanna Ali-Hassan of Beyond the Box Interiors. “Marble brings elegance and sophistication like no other material. You can also opt for a metal base paired with a marble top to tie in other metal accents in your entry such as an umbrella stand or vase.”

Show-stopping ottoman

Another splashy piece that would make Lady Whistledown proud is this show-stopping ottoman featured by @glameverything.

“Having a place to sit while you wait for your family members before heading out the door or a spot to put on your shoes is always a fantastic idea,” says Ali-Hassan.

“That doesn’t mean it has to be joyless and uninviting,” she adds. “Try an eye-catching and super comfy ottoman that can also be moved into your living room for extra seating during those large entertaining events (when we are allowed to have them again).”

Landscape tapestry

Out with the canvas and in with the tapestry! This landscape tapestry from @modernyarn is giving us all the feels.

“Tapestry of any kind is a wonderful way to incorporate texture into a room,” says Ali-Hassan. “It’s also a distinctive type of wall hanging, and landscape tapestry, specifically, not only adds that much needed texture but also brings the outdoors in, which everyone is craving at the moment.

“Decor that nods to greenery, peaceful exteriors, and breathtaking landscapes are definitely trending more than ever as we continue to spend more time inside,” she continues. “Add a table with a lamp and greenery for an inspiring and super functional entry.”

Bold floral wallpaper

Bold statements aren’t just limited to the furniture, and nothing feels quite as luxe as an entryway lined in extravagant floral wallpaper, like this one from @lindenandhill.

“Opting for bold, floral wallpaper in your entryway is the perfect way to elevate your foyer with a dynamic artistic impact,” says Stark. “Whether you choose moody or quirky flowers, you’re certain to ‘wow’ your guests every time they enter your home.”
